Oil and Gas Project Management

Oil and Gas Project Management is a five-day senior project leadership course delivered by Mars Training Centre across its international network — in London, Dubai, Doha, Al Jubail, and Kuala Lumpur — designed for project directors, programme leads, and senior managers responsible for major capital projects in the petroleum and energy sectors.

Capital projects in oil, gas, and energy are among the largest, longest, and riskiest undertakings in modern industry. Even with decades of accumulated practice, the sector continues to overrun, underdeliver, or write down a meaningful share of its mega-projects. The reasons are well known — front-end definition, governance, contractor strategy, and execution discipline — yet senior project leaders rarely have the time to step back and refresh the frameworks that distinguish the projects that succeed from those that do not.

This programme offers that step back. Across five days you will work through the discipline of front-end loading, stage-gated governance, contractor strategy, cost and schedule control, and the leadership disciplines that determine whether a major project lands. Reference is made descriptively to widely recognised industry standards and FIDIC-family contracting frameworks, without claiming any third-party accreditation. The orientation is senior leadership, not project administration.
