Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) is a five-day senior compliance course delivered by Mars Training Centre in the world's financial-crime supervision centres — London, Geneva, Dubai, New York and Manama — designed for compliance officers, money laundering reporting officers (MLROs) and senior executives responsible for protecting their organisations from financial crime.

Financial crime risk has intensified. Sanctions regimes have expanded, beneficial-ownership rules have tightened, and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards now anchor an interconnected global compliance environment that touches almost every cross-border transaction. The cost of getting compliance wrong — in monetary fines, regulatory restriction and reputational damage — has rarely been higher. Boards now expect their compliance leaders to do more than administer rules: they expect them to lead.

This programme equips senior compliance and AML practitioners with a working command of the international principles that govern anti-money laundering, sanctions, counter-terrorist financing and broader regulatory compliance. It is delivered in the world's financial-crime supervision centres — London, Geneva, Dubai, New York and Manama — by senior British practitioners drawn from the Mars panel.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this programme, you will be able to:

  • Apply the FATF Recommendations and risk-based approach to your compliance programme.
  • Design and lead a customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence framework.
  • Build a sanctions and screening programme that withstands regulatory scrutiny.
  • Lead suspicious activity identification, escalation and reporting in your organisation.
  • Evaluate the maturity of an AML programme against recognised benchmarks.
  • Embed financial-crime risk into enterprise risk and the three-lines model.
  • Communicate compliance risk to the board and senior management.
  • Lead and develop a compliance and financial-crime team at senior level.

How You Will Benefit

You will leave with the senior practitioner's command of compliance and AML leadership and a personal plan to strengthen your programme, along with a Mars Certificate of Completion.

Your organisation will gain a compliance leader who can defend the business from financial-crime exposure, satisfy supervisors, and build a programme proportionate to the real risks the business faces.
